DIY Organic Craft Idea.
These all natural lotion bars have just 3 ingredients and are super easy to make. You Can Do It!
What is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate?
Sodium lauryl sulfate is a chemical compound, a detergent basically that acts as a foaming agent. This is why your shampoo and body wash and toothpaste lather up so well. Is it safe? There is growing concern that it may not be but of course with most testing studies we get the blanket they are inconclusive and more research is needed. This seems to be the watch phrase in this decade. Is it because I'm more aware of it now or is it because people in general are just getting smarter about what is going on with their bodies? (I'm inclined to believe the later).
I've researched a few websites and some say to stay away while wikipedia says it's basically safe. It can be irritating to people with sensitive skin (bingo - me) and can also affect tooth decay in a negative way.
Washing-up liquid / dish soap
Childrens soaps / shampoos
Moisture lotion / Moisturiser
However, the use of sodium lauryl sulfate has been a subject of lot of controversy. It has arguably been called one of the most dangerous ingredients in products today.

Where to buy and how to make:
You can buy bees wax and coco butter in a craft of natural food warehouse but it might actually be harder to find than you think, however the internet is a great place to find these ingredients and you can get some fantastic deals at one of my new favorite places to shop online: Amazon.com. I've actually created a page on my other website that has all these ingredients and the recipe in one location for easy shopping, so if you are in a hurry you can go here: http://www.niftyenterprise.com/organic-crafting.html
